This weekend our great friend Liz decided to throw a surprise baby shower for her friend Veronica.  Liz just opened her vintage shop in Whittier, CA and wanted to use her new shop as the spot to surprise her friend, who by the way is expecting a boy. Congrats Veronica!

I think french macarons are chic.  I love the color, texture and appearance.  These mini desserts are perfect for a dessert bar.  Here is a dessert bar that I designed for a bridal shower. 

Paninis at home

Paninis are easy to make! Which means that you can have a delicious panini at an instant.

Here is what how I made my panini at home:

You will need a loaf of bread (and you can use any type of bread like french, focaccia, or ciabatta,) chicken or turkey ham, cheese ( I really like mozarella because it melts nicely), a pesto spread ( I bought mine instead of making it), tomatoes, and red onions.   

If you have a panini maker like I do, great.  If not you can heat up a griddle and toast it there. Bon a petit! Enjoy!
